Isla Mujeres (The Island of Women) was named for the many gold, silver, and clay statues of the goddess Ixchel that conquistadors found scattered around the island. Historically, the ancient Mayans would make pilgrimages to Isla Mujeres to ask favor from the Goddess Ixchel for fertile lands, strong families, and abundant creativity. Today, the ruins of the temple to the Goddess Ixchel still remain and some say are responsible for the powerful and nurturing energy that surrounds the island.
You know, the energy that we all need more of as we are pulled in a million different directions. From demanding careers to networking events, family responsibilities and unforeseen circumstances, the value of our self-care is sometimes pushed aside to accommodate other, more pressing needs.
This is why, back in 2009, I developed a retreat geared solely towards helping women get to the heart of what transformation means to them. Every year I invite women who need to re-center and gain skills towards compassionate self-love to an intimate, carefully designed, and professionally facilitated retreat that ensures maximum relaxation and lots of much needed “heart work.”
Although we have an itinerary and scheduled events, this retreat is structured with plenty of downtime for relaxation and reflection by the beach or pool, if desired, as well as many other fun island activities. When you leave this beautiful island, you will leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and inspired to live your best life!
I do hope you’ll consider joining me on this luxurious, relaxing, and insightful getaway.
